The environmental informatics internship program combines the research activities with the development of future professionals. The Internship Program provides students with opportunities to perform quality work and gain practical experience enabling them to assist their future employers in making more informed decisions. Projects may focus on any of the following areas: Sustainable development and information age, environmental information systems (EMIS), simulation tools, GIS, environmental cost accounting, life cycle assessment tools etc.
Students will work directly with a partner at a work site and a faculty advisor will provide academic guidance on the project. The faculty advisor will support all administrative tasks, too. Students will produce a final report as a final product of the project. Often they present their results and experiences in environmental informatics seminars.
